Yello Automotive Terms & Conditions

At Yello Automotive, we strive to offer flexible, fair, and transparent rental experiences. We understand that plans can change, and we’re here to support you when they do. Below is our official refund policy:

Booking & Rental Requirements

  • Full rental payment must be made in advance before the vehicle is released.

  • refundable security deposit is required for all self-drive rentals. The amount depends on the vehicle class.

  • valid Passport or National IDDriver’s License, a photo of the renter, and guarantor details are required.

  • The minimum rental duration for self-drive is 2 days. One-day rentals are only allowed if the vehicle is free the next business day.

  • Yello Automotive reserves the right to decline any rental without explanation.

Vehicle Use & Operation

  • For self-drive rentals, daily usage allows up to 20–22 hours. However, the vehicle must be returned within the timeline specified at booking to avoid penalties.

  • The renter agrees not to use the vehicle for towing, illegal activities, commercial purposes, or overloading.

  • No smoking is allowed in any of our vehicles.

  • Only the renter or an approved additional driver may operate the vehicle. Unauthorized drivers violate this agreement.

  • The renter must check oil, water, and tire pressure daily. Failure to do so resulting in damage is considered negligence.

  • If you request vehicle pickup after use, a flat fee of GHS100 applies within our coverage zone.

  • All vehicles must be returned in a clean state, or GHS50 will be deducted from the deposit

Early Return (without prior discussion): No refunds for unused rental days, unless the above notice terms are met.

Fuel & Distance Policies

  • Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup. Shortages will be charged from the deposit.

  • If you travel outside the agreed location (e.g., outside Accra without notice), a penalty of GHS2,000 will apply.

  • Locations of use (e.g., Accra or other regions) must be disclosed before use. Failure to do so will attract a 100% penalty.

Extension & Return Policies

  • Rental day is 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM for chauffeur service.

  • For self-drive, each rental day allows up to 20–22 hours of use. Clients must return the vehicle within the time range specified at booking. Delays attract GHS150/hour late return fees unless extended in advance.

  • Extensions must be requested and paid for at least 24 hours before rental ends. Failure will result in a GHS400 penalty.

  • Vehicle returns must match the pickup time unless otherwise arranged.

Breakdowns & Repairs

  • In case of breakdown or accident, contact us immediately. Do not attempt to repair the vehicle on your own.

  • Yello Automotive offers roadside assistance and can dispatch a mechanic or auto-electrician typically within an hour.

  • Any unauthorized repairs or servicing will not be refunded

Accidents & Damage Liability

  • Report all incidents immediately to Yello Automotive and, if necessary, the nearest police station.

  • Collect names, contacts, and witness info if another party is involved.

  • Renter is liable for all negligent damages (e.g., not checking oil/water, overspeeding, reckless driving).

  • Minor or major damage to parts or accessories (e.g., AC, bumpers, mirrors, key, stereo) must be paid for by the renter.

  • In case of negligence, the renter agrees to pay up to GHS5,000 of the total damage cost as an insurance excess or responsibility.

Refunds & Cancellations

  • 48+ hours before rental: Full refund (less processing fees).

  • 24–48 hours before rental: 25% cancellation fee.

  • Less than 24 hours: 1-day rental charge is deducted from refund.

  • Rental day: No refund. One rescheduling allowed. Further changes are not permitted.

  • During rental: Inform us 24 hours before early return for refund on unused days. Otherwise, only 50% of remaining balance is refunded.

Data & Conduct

  • All renter information must be accurate and truthful. Providing false, misleading, or fraudulent information will result in forfeiture of your security deposit

     

  • In addition, Yello Automotive reserves the right to share your details with other rental agencies and companies as a cautionary notice. You may also face legal action if deemed necessary under Ghanaian law.
  • Yello Automotive takes data privacy seriously. We do not store card details and only collect personal information essential to your rental transaction.

Driver Services (If Chauffeur Driven)

  • Chauffeur service operates 10 to 12 hours daily before/from 6:00am.

  • Overtime is GHS50/hour.

  • If the trip is outside Accra, and its an overnight stay, the client must provide the driver’s accommodation.

Contact & Final Notes

  • The security deposit is refunded via Mobile Money or Bank Transfer within 24 hours after vehicle inspection.

  • Any violation of these terms may lead to rental termination without refund.
